One place to run a label

Marula Music is an independent electronic label run by one person: releases, a YouTube channel, a 228-member Patreon, an 800-person mailing list, and a plugin brand. We built the single system that person now works from every day.

01The problem

Every part of the label lived somewhere else.

Releases were tracked in spreadsheets, the site sat on Wix, content started from a blank page in whatever app was open, and the numbers that told you whether any of it worked were spread across four dashboards nobody had time to open.

None of it was broken. It was simply more surface than one person could hold, so the routine work quietly crowded out the judgment work.

02The approach

One workstation, not a dozen tools.

We did not add a dozen tools or hand the work to an agency. We built one workstation: a filing and memory structure the whole label runs on, a set of narrow skills that draft releases, articles, and social posts in the label’s own voice, a website rebuilt on WordPress with tracking that actually reports, and analytics that answer a question by opening a page.

Every skill drafts and stages. The operator still approves, edits, and publishes, so the label’s taste stays on the person, not the automation.

The workstation

A single filing and memory structure the whole label runs on. Everything captured, drafted, or finished has one home, and the system remembers context between sessions instead of starting cold each time.

[ 02 ]

Content engine and voice core

A shared voice definition feeds every skill, so blog posts, YouTube copy, and social content draft in the label's own tone rather than generic house style. One canonical piece becomes a full week of channel content.

[ 03 ]

Release campaign automation

Turns a single release sheet into the whole campaign: timeline, pre-save brief, editorial pitch, blog post, artist email, and the social and newsletter content, staged and dated for approval.

[ 04 ]

YouTube processor

Takes a finished video and produces the transcript, the search-ready title and description, a companion article, a Patreon post, and the social pack, ready for a human edit before anything goes live.

[ 05 ]

Website rebuild

Moved the site off Wix onto WordPress and WooCommerce, on a fast, maintainable theme, with consent-gated analytics and pixel tracking wired in properly so the store and the marketing finally report real numbers.

[ 06 ]

Analytics command centre

Pulls YouTube and website performance into dashboards that refresh on their own overnight, so a question about what is working gets answered by opening a page instead of exporting and stitching data by hand.

03The outcome

Work starts from a system, not a blank page.

A release, a video launch, or a month of social content now starts from a system that already knows the format and the voice, instead of a blank page. A performance question gets answered by opening a dashboard rather than rebuilding a report.

The same one person carries the label, the studio, and the plugin brand without a second hire or an outside agency.
